Saturday December 10, some of us NY Brothers were thinking of Bill and sharing news about his failing health. We were all wishing him smooth sailing to smooth seas for the coming weeks. From far, he must have heard us giggling silly and laughing about the good times. I can imagine his smooth smile and inner calm. Is it fortuity? Is it destiny? Or congruence? Very appropriately and quietly, without intrusion in any ones life, he drifted away.

Free spirit he always was. Bill made a career fitting his life: simple, precise, solid and discrete. He had a good business selling stairs treads for public works and subways. He lived many seasons aboard his Great Dane 28 in Oyster Bay - NY. Bill cherished long sails, long tales of past adventures and good conversations with many lady friends. That was his family! Always lurking towards a good shot of Drambuie!
We raised our glass yesterday night and finished his flask. Thank you for sharing time with us Sea Dog!
Orza!
